Hi, I'm Sheldon and I'm going to help you get focused.
I've spent over 20 years working in the missional NGO sector and in different parts of the world. I've been involved in lots of different areas of social purpose work including leadership development, anti-trafficking, education, advocacy, network leadership, organizational development, church planting, pastoral leadership and a many other initiatives and endeavours that were meant to change the world.
But what I really like to do, and what I am really good, at is facilitation. That's just a fancy way to say that I make it easier for people to work together and accomplish things that matter to them. I love working with teams, organizations and networks and helping them clarify where they need to change, helping them design the best ways for them to change and then guiding them through the change process. To do this better, I became a Certified Professional Facilitator with the International Association of Facilitators (look it up) and have done almost all my training with the Institute of Cultural Affairs (the OGs of Facilitation...look them up). So what does that mean? Well, when you put together:

What is FOCUS?
FOCUS developed out of a dream and desire to make sure that social purpose and missional organizations can access the professional services they need to take their next step towards increasing their impact. FOCUS prioritizes small and medium-sized NGOs, faith-based organizations, grassroots initiatives or anyone who wants to make a positive difference in the world.
Or, as I like to say, FOCUS exists to create space and opportunity for people to discover and design their next strategic steps together. |

What is FACILITATION?
Facilitation is a collaborative approach focused on helping a group work together effectively towards a common goal by encouraging participation and engagement from everyone in the group. Facilitation recognizes that the people in the room are the experts and they know what they want to achieve. The facilitator just removes the obstacles and creates an environment for co-creation and collaboration to happen.
It doesn't matter what problem you might be facing, facilitation can help.
